THE
THEATER FOR SOCIAL CHANGE MINI-SUMMIT:
IS
THERE A ROLE FOR COMEDY IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY?
Welcome to the internet hub of the Theater for Social
Change Mini-Summit!
This week-long event is proudly brought to you by Red
Noses,
a program of the clown theater company, The Glass Contraption.
From June 16 – 22, local and international
community arts groups, performing artists and companies will
come together to explore the role of humor in addressing
issues of social justice and in bringing about change in communities.
This event is the result of an ongoing international exchange
between
The Glass Contraption and Siyaya Music
Theater, an HIV-outreach youth theater company based
out of the JL Zwane Cultural Center in the
Guguletu township near Cape Town, South Africa. We welcome them
to New York!
Please enjoy the information on
performances, presentations,
exchanges and workshops. We hope to see you there!
